Lakewood, Ohio
Bunts Road
Named for Harry C. Bunts, a lawyer who never lived in Lakewood, chosen by lots among four investors in 1894.
The road began as a lane through Dr. Jared P. Kirtland's farm, long called Kirtland Lane. After the estate was sold, four investors (Charles A. Cook, Charles Goulder, Harry C. Bunts, W. H. Beavis) planned a wide tree-centered boulevard from Lorain north to the Lake in October 1894 and drew names from a hat; Bunts won. He was once first assistant solicitor of Cleveland and the uncle of Dr. Alexander T. Bunts.
